Martin T. Wire, 57 of Frankton, died Jan. 11, 2018 at Community Hospital in Anderson after a battle with cancer. He was born Oct. 21, 1960 in Elwood, son of Don and Rita (Robbins) Wire. Martin was a splicer technician at AT&T in Marion for 25 years. He was a 1979 grad of Elwood Community H.S., member of Wesley Free Methodist Church in Anderson, former member at the Elwood YMCA and member of the NRA.
Martin enjoyed music, being with his family, gardening, crafting and watching the Indy Colts and Frankton Eagles. The family thanks the staff of Community Hospital (5 East) and Hospice for their exceptional care of Martin.
Martin's family includes four children, Jessica (Brian) Jent of Anderson, Greg Wire of Indy, Megan (Jon) McDaniel of Anderson and Andy (Briana) Whited of Anderson; four sisters, Theresa (David) Berghoff of Indy, Emma (Steve) Manship of Anderson, Julie (Phil) Arnold of Fort Wayne and Mary (Daniel) DeHoff of New Palestine; six grandchildren; Lakin, Robbie, Ethan, Cordy, Linnea, Gracie and another expected in 2018; former spouses, Dee Daulton and Rhonda Wire; and dog,"Harley." He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and three uncles.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with Pastor Marc Adams officiating. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home.
