Mary (Modlin) Beadle, 87, died peacefully at home on Christmas morning at first light with her daughter Anita by her side.
Mary was born May 4, 1930, to Orville and Carrie (Stewart) Modlin.
Stricken with polio at the age of 6, Mary was given little hope to survive. God had other plans for his angel on earth. Although left disabled from polio she was blessed to lead a full life, as a Christian for God, wife to Max, mother to Neil and Anita, grandmother to Josh and Gabe, and great-grandmother to Hannah and Brody.
Mary was a member of New Life Nazarene, formerly known as Goodwin Memorial Nazarene, where she served as a 2nd grade Sunday School teacher, she appropriately named the Busy Bees from 1980-1990.
Mary loved her home and was an excellent homemaker, crafter and seamstress. She especially loved Christmas, and snow angels, fitting she was given the gift of everlasting life Christmas morning.
Surviving to cherish many happy memories, her daughter, Anita Davidson of Anderson; grandsons, Joshua Beadle of Michigan City, and Gabriel (Alyson Delotte) Beadle of Porter, Indiana; great-grandchildren, Hannah M. and Brody Max Beadle; as well as many nieces and nephews; and a special friend and hairdresser, Shelley Hare.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Max Beadle after 52 years of marriage; son, Neil Andrew; brother, Donald Modlin; son-in-law, Terry Davidson; and her daughter-in-law, Linda Beadle.
The family would like to thank St. Vincent Hospice Care for their and support, Sharon, Pam and Kellie, you are angels. Also a heartfelt thank you for caregivers, Kilian and Stephanie Crabtree, Mary came to love you both so much. Your love and care has been priceless for us.
