Mary Opal Eviston, 85, of Mooreland, died Monday evening, April 10, 2017, at the home of her daughter.
She was born Aug. 17, 1931, in Big Bone Lick, Ky., the daughter of John Harvey and Mary Ann (Earlywine) Varner.
Opal retired as a teller from First Merchants Bank. She loved raising flowers, watching Cincinnati Reds baseball and especially loved being with her family. Opal loved to watch her grandchildren and great-grandchildren in their activities.
Opal is survived by her six children, Barbara Bennett of Mooreland, Sharlene Cross (John) of Independence, Ky., Tim Urlage (Karen) of Mooreland, Kevin Urlage of Abline, Texas, Chris Eviston (Jennifer) of Muncie, and Greg Eviston (Monica) of Losantsville; 13 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Eviston; two brothers; and a sister.
Services for Opal will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Garden View Funeral Home with Pastor Kevin Holt officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Losantsville.
Family and friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at 1 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
