Mary Lou Garrett, 77, of Clarksburg, West Virginia, passed away on Monday, March 6, 2017, at Clarksburg Nursing and Rehab, surrounded by her family.
She was born Nov. 27, 1939, in Alexandria, Indiana, the daughter of the late Charles Barth Sr. and Margaret (Goodnight) Barth.
Mary worked for three years at Martin's Grill. She was a member of the Bible Baptist Church. Mary also enjoyed taking care of and sitting with the elderly.
She is survived by her daughter, Leah L. Lawson and her husband, James of Clarksburg, W.Va.; a granddaughter, Lou Ann Grant and her husband, TJ of Clarksburg, W.Va.; two grandsons, Justin Lawson and Ryan Lawson, both of Clarksburg, W.Va.; seven great- grandchildren, Casey Messenger, Christian Jenkins, Caleb Jenkins, Camden Jenkins, Cananna Talarico, TJ Grant and Conner Grant; two brothers, Charles (wife, Debbie) Barth Jr. of Anderson, Ind., and James Barth of Clarksburg, W.Va.; sisters-in-law, Wilma Barth of Clarksburg, W.Va., and Pat Barth of Anderson, Ind.; a brother-in-law, Roger of Clarksburg, W.Va.; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her former husband, Glenn Edward Garrett; a brother, Kenneth Barth; and a sister, Matilda Booth.
Services were conducted March 10 at Davis Funeral Home, 124 Olen Thomas Drive, Clarksburg, with Pastor Charles Madaus presiding.
