Mary's Story

Mary Ann (East) Imler, 83, of Anderson, died Thursday, Dec. 28, 2017, at Miller's Merry Manor in Chesterfield, following an extended illness.
She was born on Sept. 4, 1934, in Anderson, the daughter of Elmer and Ann (Simmonds) East. She was employed by the Frances Smith Shop in Edgewood for many years and was a member of Park Place Church of God. Mary Ann enjoyed family gatherings, spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and traveling.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Imler of Anderson; three stepchildren, Steve (Dianne) Imler of Carmel, Janet (Mike) Withers of Anderson, and Mark (Francy) Imler of Sugarland, Texas; six stepgrandchildren, Natalie (Brian) Young, Ryan Imler, Nicholas Withers, Jonathan (Caity) Withers, Liana Depew, Ray Don Depew; two stepgreat-grandchildren, Seth Young and Alexis Imler; brother, Tim East; former sister-in-law, Chris East; nieces and nephews, Jeff (Connie) McKay, Mike (Linda) McKay, Erin East and Matt (Rachel) East.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Lloyd McKay.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2018, at 2 p.m. at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service officiated by Pastor Don Collins. Private burial will follow in East Maplewood Cemetery.
Visitation will take place at the funeral home beginning at noon on Tuesday.
Memorial contributions may be given to Park Place Church of God or Park Place Church of God Food Pantry.
