McArthur Chamberlain, 92, Anderson, passed away Aug. 21, 2018, at St. Vincent Anderson Hospital.
He was born July 29, 1926, in Gholston, Mississippi, the son of Tom and Mattie (Cotton) Chamberlain.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran and a member of the Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, Mr. and Mrs. Club and also a former Prince Hall Mason.
He retired from Russ Regenold Pontiac and Delco Remy after many years of service.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mae (Hampton) Chamberlain; two sons, Rodney (Cynthia)and LaVerne "Bacon" Chamberlain, all of Anderson; two daughters, Yvette Chamberlain of Anderson and Shell (Harold) Hamilton of Indianapolis; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; five sisters, Annie Matt Jenkins of Detroit, Michigan, Ella McWilliams, Bertha (Albert) McClendon, Pauline Chamberlain Mansfield, Betty (Foree) Dixon, all of Anderson; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A celebration of his life will take place at noon Friday, Aug. 31, 2018, at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church. The Rev. Edgar M. Woodall will officiate.
Visitation hours will be from 10 a.m. to noon at the church.
Arrangements are being entrusted to L. C. May Funeral Services.
