Melissa G. Ellis, 56, of Middletown and Anderson, passed into the arms of Jesus on July 21, 2017, at her sister's home in Ingalls.
She was born in Elwood at Mercy Hospital, Aug. 27, 1960, the daughter of George and Virginia Kirby.
She was graduated from Shenandoah High School and studied massage therapy in Alexandria. She was a beautician for 27 years.
She loved flowers, bird watching and most of all her family.
Melissa is survived by her husband, William Ellis; son, Shawn Helsley (Brittany); grandchildren, Daylyn, Aidon, Isabella, Owen and Rylynn; sister, Georgia Parker; brothers, Michael Kirby and Brian (Debbie) Kirby; sister-in-law, Anna Kirby, and special friends, Ginger White and Stev and Pam Helsley.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Stephen Kirby; and her dog, Pooka.
A Celebration of her life will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 118 S. 5th St., Middletown, with Rev. Robert Sluter officiating.
Burial will follow in Miller Cemetery, Middletown.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the services.
