Minnie C. McCarroll, 97, died Jan. 14, 2018, at Community Hospital of Anderson.
Minnie was born June 16, 1920, to Jackson and Alice (Blackwell) Williams, in Ekron, Kentucky. She graduated from Lincoln Institute of Kentucky with honors and at a young age Minnie married Morris E. Woods; of this union one son, Alvin E. Woods was born. Minnie married William H. McCarroll after moving to Anderson; of this union one daughter, Alicia A. McCarroll was born. They were married for over 43 years.
After moving to Anderson she worked at Hoyt Wright and then General Motors where she retired after 22 years.
Minnie leaves to cherish her memories her son, Alvin E. (Ella) Woods; grandsons, Charles (LaTanza) Woods, Martin Woods, and Alvin Woods of Indianapolis; granddaughters, LaKisha Goins and Mia Goins of Anderson; great-grandchildren, Dillon Woods, Shaquille Woods, Martin Woods Jr., Jaylen Adams, Lailah Adams, Sharod Pearson, Brooklyn Pearson, and Kingston Woods; great-great- granddaughter, Jade Woods; special friends, Georganna King, Theada Wright, Mae Ann, Barbara Jackson, and Jessie Rosier.
Minnie was preceded in death by her parents, Jackson and Alice Williams; husband, William H. McCarroll; daughter, Alicia McCarroll Goins; brothers, Charles, Ray, Orville, Raymond, and Anderson Williams; and sister, Annie (Williams) Brown; and special friends, Barbara Wright and Francis Vertner.
Services will be held noon Saturday at Sherman Street Church of God, 1925 Sherman St., with burial in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday prior to service.
