He was born July 18, 1958, in Anderson, to Ray Dowden and Charlotte Morgan.
Monte was graduated from Mount Vernon High School in 1976.
He owned and operated D&D Mobile Wash.
Monte is survived by his parents; former wife, Becky Dowden; brother, Charles D. (Kathy) Dowden of Ingalls; two sisters, Marte Dowden and Lori Moore of Ingalls; and several nieces and nephews including Charles Dowden II, Anthony Dowden, Christopher Moore, Morgan and Ethan Powell, and Kaytlyn Dowden.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 16, 2018, at Mendon Cemetery, Pendleton, with burial to follow.
