Monty L. Hensley, 68, passed away Sunday, Jan. 7, 2018, at his residence after a brief illness.
He was born in Anderson on Aug. 31, 1949, the son of Lowell and Betty (Dodd) Hensley and graduated from Wes-Del High School. Monty served his country in the United States Army National Guard.
He owned Monty's Bar in Chesterfield until 1987 and then worked for Stoops Automotive Group as a salesman for the last 29 years.
Monty had a gregarious personality and was an avid sports fan, especially of Indiana University basketball.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Hensley (Gill); daughter, Amy Durbin (Hammersley) (husband, Kevin); grandchildren, Hannah and Emily Durbin; also surviving are a niece, three nephews and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Lana Nichole "Nikki" Lopez (survived by her husband, Robert); his parents; and his sister, Sheri Ricker.
Private services will be held and The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
