Ocie Lee Tellis, GM retiree, has returned Home with Christ.
Born into segregation he never taught racial hatred. Age 90, 54, years after the Civil Rights Revolution he passed, "justice denied."
Family preceding Lee's homegoing, daughter, Marilyn "Kay" Tellis; sons, Lehn Richard "Ricky" Tellis, David and Terry Tellis; sisters, Luvenia Wilson, Mary "May" Robinson, Sylbester Blair, Claudia Carter; brothers, Joseph "Joe" and Epfren Ivey.
He leaves cherished family and memories to his wife/companion, Mozelle G. Tellis; daughters Annie Ruth (Calvin) Goss, Sparta, Georgia, Judalon "Ju Ju" Tellis (Harris), Tanya Tellis, Anderson and Jewel Moses, Youngstown, Ohio; sons, Willie C. (Wilma) Weems, Saginaw, Michigan, Malcolm D. Hayes, Nashville, Tennessee, Larry "Moe" Tellis, Bloomington; the Ivey family and a league of descendants.
Homegoing service noon Saturday, March 3, 2018. Visitation: 10 a.m. to noon at L.C. May Funeral Home.
