Otis J. Ward, 72 passed away Oct. 20, 2017, surrounded by family.
He was born March 5, 1945, to Otis Sr. and Alice Ward in Montevallo, Alabama, and moved to Anderson, Indiana.
He graduated from Anderson High School and joined Second Missionary Baptist church at an early age, where he was baptized. Otis served on the usher board and as Director of Media ministry.
He served in the United States Air Force and was employed by General Motors Corporation for 30 plus years and had various talents such as: licensed locksmith, photography and wood carving.
Otis is survived by two daughters, Margaret Ward and Carmita Ward (Charlie) Anderson;
sister, Georgia Grace Ward;
grandchildren: James Journey, Jamariah Ward, Mykal Anderson and Charlee Anderson; nieces, Kavata Ward, Avery Hopkins, Violet Hopkins, Leta George and Raven George; nephews, Keith George, Walid Artest, Walid Artest Jr., Nassim Artest, and Kanye George; several special friends and relatives.
Otis was preceded in death by his parents, Otis and Alice Ward; sister, Ruby Inez Ward; and special cousin, Catherine Duncan.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 26 at Second Missionary Baptist Church. Visitation hours are 10 a.m. to noon with services immediately following.
