Phillip Lee Fadely, 73, resident of Ingalls, passed away at IU Health Saxony Hospital in Indianapolis on May 21, 2017.
He was born in Anderson on Jan. 4, 1944, the son of Virgil and Louise Fox Fadely.
He was a 1962 Middletown High School graduate. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam conflict, serving seven tours with three Purple Hearts and a Medal of Valor. He served as staff sergeant.
He was an active sponsor for Alcoholics Anonymous and worked very hard for the organization.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors are his wife of 11 years, Sara Anne (Connelly) of Ingalls; five children, Phillip Fadely of New Castle, Chantel Thornberry of Anderson, Jasper Fadely of Ingalls, Levi Connelly of Ingalls and Ian Snyder of Chesterfield; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two sisters, Pat Bartell of Middletown and Marilyn Ubelhor of Anderson; and a brother, Jerry Fadely of Greenfield.
A celebration of his life will take place at 2:00 p.m. Friday at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 118 South 5th St., Middletown.
Burial will follow in Miller Cemetery in Middletown.
