Ralph L. Parker, 87, of Anderson, passed away on Aug. 4, 2018, at the Providence Nursing Home in Anderson.
He was born on June 11, 1931, in East Enterprise, Indiana, and resided most of his life in Anderson.
Ralph graduated with a master's degree in engineering from Purdue University. He served his country on the USS Randolph, and later became a captain in the United States Navy.
He was an engineer for General Motors, and retired in 1988 after 30 years of service.
He was on the East Central Indiana Solid Waste District Committee, helped with the White River Watchers, was member of the Fellowship Masonic Lodge 681, F. & A. M, became a Master Gardener where he helped with many different gardening events, and received his pilot's license and flew for several years.
Ralph enjoyed fishing, hunting, farming, and raising cattle. He remained physically active, and enjoyed his yard work in his later years.
Ralph is survived by his loving children, Michael (Cathy) Parker of Markleville, Mark Parker of Pittsboro, North Carolina, and Lynne (Bruce) Sutton of Morristown, Indiana; and grandchildren, Andrew Parker and Emily Parker.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Betty Jo (Robbins) Parker; son, Ross Parker; daughter, Kim Parker; parents, John and Lena (Scudder) Parker; and sister, Lorraine (Leland) Chase.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2018, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, 200 W. 53rd St., Anderson.
Services will be Thursday, Aug. 9, 2018, at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Anderson Memorial Park.
