Rev. Robert's Story
The Rev. Robert E. James, 100, of Anderson, passed away on March 30, 2017, at the Good Shepherd Hospice House, Sebring, Fla.
He was born on March 12, 1917, in Delaware, Ohio, to Walter and Ruth Anna James.
Robert graduated from Olivet Nazarene College in 1949.
He was ordained in the Church of the Nazarene in 1951, and pastored for 37 years in several churches in Indiana.
He was a member of The New Life Church of the Nazarene, an active member of Christian Literature for Africa, and a retired elder in the Church of the Nazarene.
Rev. James is survived by his loving spouse whom he married on April 13, 1940, Imogene Lucille (Cole) James; children, Tom (Carol) James, Nancy (Don) Ault, and Ruth (Frank) Brown; sister, Marjorie Ramey; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Walter James; and his mother, Ruth Anna (Woolsey) James.
Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday at New Life Church of the Nazarene, 3615 Raible Ave., Anderson.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church with Revs. Al Dayton and Jack Duckworth officiating. Burial will take place in East Maplewood Cemetery, Anderson.
