Richard's Story

Richard Samuel Adams, 90, passed away at Community Northview Care Center on Nov. 17, 2017.
He was born Sept. 8, 1927, to John Adams and Violet Hoosier-Adams. He was a 1946 graduate of Anderson High School, and played basketball, tennis and track. Richard retired from First Savings and Loan, and enjoyed meteorology, and CB radio.
He leaves to cherish his memory wife, Martha Adams; daughters, Diana (Gerald) Carter of Georgia, Nancy Powell, Debra Adams, and Tarri Adams, all of Anderson; grandchildren, Gerald Carter, Snapper Powell, Toneka (Wesley) Eitienne of Georgia, Adam Powell and Taylor Adams; great-grandchildren, Torrence Powell of Arizona, Nia and Naydia Eitiene of Georgia and Jacieon Powell.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Stanley Adams; and son, Richard Adams Jr.
The family would like to express a special thank you for the amazing care, therapy and love received from the staff at Community Northview and the Great Lakes Caring Staff.
Services will be held noon Monday at Glazebrooks Funeral Services, 2822 Nichol Ave., Anderson, with burial at Maplewood Cemetery.
Visitation is from 10 a.m. to noon Monday at the funeral home.
