Richard Earl Gooding Sr. Richard Earl "Dick" Gooding Sr., 84, of Anderson, died at his residence after a brief illness.
He was born October 28, 1934, in Anderson, the son of Earl and Ada B. (Eustler) Gooding. Dick was a member of the 1952 graduating class of Anderson High School. He owned and operated Gooding Masonry for 37 years before retiring in 1997.
He was a member of New Life Nazarene Church.
Dick enjoyed camping; traveling, especially cruises, and spending time with his family.
Dick is survived by his three children, Roger (Elizabeth Ellebracht) Gooding and Rick Gooding, all of Anderson, and Becky (Walter Morrill) Gooding of Bradenton, Florida; six grandchildren, Taylor (Courtney) Cole of Lapel, Megan (Ben) Bell of Muncie, Brynn Gooding of Fishers, Laurynn Gooding of Anderson, Jordan Gooding of Anderson, and Toni Morrill of Bradenton, Florida; two great-grandchildren, Sabrina Morrill and Cayson Cole; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved boxer "Cora".
Dick was preceded in death his parents; his wife, Betty J. Gooding in 2015; daughter, Kathryn D. Coffman; sisters, Patricia Spangler and Sally Dunn; and brother, Don Gooding.
Service will be at noon Thursday, Jan. 10, 2019, at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service, with the Rev. Jack Duckworth officiating. Burial will be in East Maplewood Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2019, and one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.

I'm very sorry to hear of Dick's passing. So many memories to count. His friendship, a great neighbor, helping my brother and I become better basketball players, and being just a great person. He will be greatly missed. Prayers to the family.

So sorry for the loss. He was a great man an always a fan of Daleville sports. Our kids loved him dearly. As of today didn’t know his name was just always Grandpa Gooding. RIP grandpa Gooding
