Richard A. Jackson Sr., 63, passed away Aug. 14, 2017, at St. Vincent Anderson Hospital.
Richard was born July 26, 1954, in Anderson, to Bertha Jackson and Monroe Wilson, and was a 1973 Anderson High School graduate. Richard enjoyed fishing, working on cars, riding his motorcycle and being a member of A-town EZ Riders. Richard was a gentle-hearted man who had great love for his family.
Richard leaves to cherish his memories, wife Joann Jackson of 41 years; sons, Richard A. (Sondra) Jackson Jr., and Davon (Kevisha) Jackson; daughters, Daisha (Aaron) Berry; sisters, Sharon K. Johnson-Mebane, Evangelist Joyce (Pastor Anthony) Harris, Sandy (Clarence) Fanning, and Barbara (Richard Melton) Jackson; brothers, Leslie (Aletha) Jackson, William (Ivory) Jackson, and Terry Wilson; grandchildren, Dyamond Johnson, Raquan Jackson, Rihanna Jackson, Noraa Berry, Da'veaha Jackson, Arron Berry Jr., and Davon Jackson Jr.; great-granddaughter, Jasmine Brown; special friends, Merial Summerville, Robert Richardson, Quentin Cox, Billy Jordan, Willy Rice and Kern Peak; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents; mother and father-in-law, Howard (Daisy) Fuller; sisters, Beverly Noethtich, Martha Stokes, Pamela Jackson, and Rochelle Jackson; brothers-in-law, Don Mebane, Charles Bush, and Harold Manuel; special friend, Louis Harris; nephews, Gilbert Bruce Noethtich, Jason Fuller, Eddie Richardson, Robert Richardson Jr., Pastor Terry Bush and Howard Hudson.
Services will be held at noon Thursday at Church Upon The Rock, 303 E. 29th St., Anderson. Interment will be in Maplewood Cemetery.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. to noon Thursday at the church.
