Richard D. Main, 91, of Anderson, passed away on Feb. 18, 2018, at Bethany Pointe Health Campus in Anderson.
He was born in Indianapolis, and resided most of his life in Indianapolis, Michigan City and Anderson.
Richard graduated from Anderson High School in 1944, and Butler University in 1947.
He was a pharmacist at Haag Drug Co., Main Drug Co., and Hook Drug Co. He then took a sabbatical to smell the roses and go sailing.
He was a member of Victory Baptist Church, The Masonic Lodge, Shrine Club, and The Scottish Rite. He enjoyed motorcycles, sailing, personal use distilling, marine sewing, photography, water and snow skiing, playing his harmonicas, attending different church functions, and spending time with his family.
Richard is survived by his wife, Jo Anne Main; children, Lynn (Robert) Burress, Dianna Tetrick, Pamela Lerch, and Richard V. Main; stepchildren, Nancy (David) Ashmore, David (Carol) Farr, and Jim Farr; grandchildren, Kevin, Scott, Matthew, Mark, Richard, Allison, Sarah, Katie; 11 great-grandchildren; and stepgrandchildren, Joseph, Julie, Sarah, Andrew, Eric, Kiana, Rebecca, and John.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lola Main; mother, Mary Margaret Main; father, John Main; and brothers, Donald Main, and John Main.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 24, 2018, at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, 200 W. 53rd St., Anderson.
Services will be at 3 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 24, 2018, at the funeral home, with Pastor Kenneth King officiating.
Cremation & Burial of Ashes will take place in East Maplewood Cemetery at a later date.
