Robert "Bob" Cassity, 83, resident of New Castle, passed away March 6, 2017, at Henry County Hospital in New Castle.
He was born May 4, 1933, in Farmers, Ky., the son of Walter and Mildred Armstrong Cassity.
He was a member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He lived in the Henry County area most of his life.
He had been a Chicago Cubs fan since 1944 and he loved fishing.
He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in Korea.
He was a graduate of 1952 Cadiz High School.
He retired from Ferodo Industries after 42 years of service.
Survivors are two daughters, Robbin (Dan) Neal of New Castle and Lana (Doug) Miles of Fort Myers, Fla.; three grandchildren, Ryan (Crystal) Miles, Blake (Becky) Neal and Brett (Ali) Miles; three great- grandchildren, Nolan Miles, Holden Miles and Sophia Miles; one nephew and one niece; and sister-in-law, Beverly Cassity of New Castle.
He was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, Francie Shores; and his brother, William.
A Service of Celebration will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 118 S. Fifth St., Middletown. Burial will follow in Green Hills Memory Gardens.
Friends may call on Saturday from noon until the time of the service.
