Robert J. 'RJ' Moore

Robert J. RJ Moore Robert J. "RJ" Moore, 61, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 3, 2018, at Community Hospital North in Indianapolis following an extended illness.
RJ was born on Feb. 3, 1957, in Elwood, to James and Shirley (Miller) Moore and has lived in the Alexandria area most of his lifetime. He was a graduate of Alexandria-Monroe High School-Class of 1976.
RJ served briefly in the United States Navy from where he received a medical discharge. He was track superintendent at Hoosier Park in Anderson from 1999 to 2011. He has been track superintendent for Hollywood Gaming since 2014. He was also owner and operator of Track and Construction by RJ for the past five years.
RJ was a member of Indiana Standardbred Association and the Alexandria Eagles 1771. He enjoyed harness racing, fishing, logging and his work. RJ was a fan of the Indianapolis Colts.
He is survived by his daughter, Leia Moore of Converse; son, Bruce Moore of Yorktown; grandson, Creeden Riddle; sister, Taffy Green of Indianapolis; girlfriend, Karen Bland of Chesterfield; nephew, Drew Green; and niece, Virginia Green.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
Services honoring RJ's life and legacy will take place at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9, 2018, at Noffze Funeral Home, 501 N. Harrison St., Alexandria, with Saralou Pettigo officiating. Cremation will follow the services.
Friends may call after 4 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Thyroid Association through the funeral home.
