Robert C. Sills


Robert "Bob" C. Sills, of Anderson, passed away June 6, 2019, at the age of 97.
Born on Jan. 11, 1922, in Dora (Wabash County), Indiana, he was the son of Richard "Dick" Sills and Pearl Rebecca Sills.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Charles Sills; and one sister, Ruthanna Putney.
Survivors include his wife of 71 years, Neoma Louise Sills; daughter, Jacqueline "Jackie" Dale; son, Roland (Sharon) Sills; grandchildren, Michael (Tammy) Dale, Wendy (Gregg) Brown, Kristopher (Stacy) Massey, Nicholas (Sara) Sills; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Bob was a World War II veteran, Delco Remy retiree and devout Christian. He was a loving family man who enjoyed his children and grandchildren. Prior to his retirement from Delco Remy in Anderson, he enjoyed playing softball, coaching Little League baseball and watching baseball games. He and Louise moved to Lakeland, Florida, in 1984 where they lived until they moved back to Alexandria, in 2015.
While in Florida, he enjoyed being the director of shuffle board and playing the game. Other hobbies included riding his bike, bowling and going on cruises.
Visitation will be held at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, 200 W. 53rd St., Anderson, on Saturday, June 15, 2019, from 9 to 10:30 a.m.
Services will be at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Gary Klinger officiating.
Burial will be in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Bob's memory may be made to any Veterans of Foreign Wars Post or the donor's choice.

My deepest condolences to the family. Bob was a devout Christian. Was a great example to follow. I enjoyed growing up in church with the family
