Robert K. Thomas, 75, of Anderson, passed away peacefully at his home after an extended illness on Feb. 27, 2018.
He was born Dec. 15, 1942, to James and Myrtle (Gilland) Thomas.
A lifelong resident of Anderson, Bob graduated from Madison Heights High School and attended Ball State University.
He was employed by General Motors for 37 years before retiring in 1999.
He was an avid sportsman, playing a wide variety of sports until his illness. He also enjoyed coaching baseball as his sons grew.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Cathy (Hervey) Thomas; sons, Stephen (Amanda Kreps) Thomas of Goshen, Indiana, and Michael (Juli) Thomas of Cincinnati, Ohio; grandchildren, Alexander (Monica) Thomas, Kiley Thomas, Spencer Thomas, Cole Thomas, and Seth Thomas. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 4, 2018, from 1 to 3 p.m. at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, 200 W. 53rd St., Anderson.
A memorial service will follow visitation at 3 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Gary Klinger officiating. Burial of ashes will take place in East Maplewood Cemetery, Anderson, at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the donor's charity of choice.
