Robin Vaughn-Jones, 69, Anderson, departed this life Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2017, after an extended illness.
She was born Oct. 18, 1948, in Anderson, to Eddie and Anise Rayford.
Robin graduated from Anderson High School, class of 1966.
She had a quick and agile mind and possessed excellent clerical skills. Prior to becoming ill, she was employed at the Bridges, Campbell and Woodall Medical Corporation, and the Anderson License Branch.
Robin enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
She was a life member of Allen Chapel AME Church, Anderson, IN., where she served on the usher board, stewardess board, sang in the choirand worked as the church secretary.
Survivors include her companion, James Chapman; son, Theron E. (Kimberly) Vaughn; daughter, Valerie Vaughn; brothers, Eddie "Pete" (Willie Mae) Rayford, Jr., Willie C. (Marsha) Rayford, Norman (Virginia) Rayford, James (Lori) Dickerson and Maurice (Diane) Bryant; sisters, Carolyn (Leon) Wilson, Jennette Harris, Crystal Ivey and Brenda Nix; five grandchildren, Theron M. (Fantah) Vaughn, LaKoya (Bruce) Rochell, Deontae (Shannon)Vaughn, Lakayla Wortham and Lakiah Wortham; three great grandchildren, Kanye Rochell, Essence Rochell, and SaKoya Vaughn; uncles, Joe (Mary) Rayford, Willie Fred (Cora) Rayford and Louis Rayford; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Thomas M. Vaughn, and Robert Lee Jones; grandparents, Joe (Emma Jane) Rayford, Sr., Wade (Lucy) Boswell and sister, Brenda Dickerson.
Memorial service honoring Robin's life, will be noon Friday at Allen Chapel AME Church, 1610 Sheridan St., Anderson.
Visitation is from 10 am to Noon prior to service.
