FRANKTON Ronald "Ronnie" Lee Hobbs, age 61, of Frankton, passed away on Saturday, July 15, 2017, at his residence following an extended illness.
He was born Sept. 30, 1955, in Elwood to Charles W. Hobbs and Wanda (Friend) Higginbotham.
Ronnie was a 1973 graduate of Frankton High School and retired from the Owens-Brockway Glass Plant in Lapel, where he had worked for more than 38 years. He was a member of the Glass Molders Plastics Union Local #207. He enjoyed music and going to rummage sales, and was an avid Cincinnati Reds fan. More than anything, Ronnie will be remembered as being a devoted grandfather. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, who had been his whole world for the past several years.
Ronnie is survived by daughters Katie (Jesse) Johnson, of Anderson, and Molly Hobbs, of Frankton, and stepdaughter Sarah Adams, of Anderson; grandchildren Avalyn, Atticus, Alistair, Atreyu and Althea Johnson; Nora Hurd; and Kylan Adams; mother, Wanda Higginbotham, of Frankton; sisters Cindy Dwiggens of Cicero and Jane (Joe) Kubel of Noblesville; brother John Higginbotham; and several nieces and nephews.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his father.
Private family services were held at Harper & Dunnichay Funeral Home in Frankton. A celebration of Ronnie's life will be held at 2 p.m. on Sept. 30, 2017. at his residence, 308 Clyde Street, Frankton, IN 46044.
