Rose M. Busby, age 86, of Frankton, passed away on Monday, Jan. 8, 2018, at her residence following an extended illness.
She was born in Carmel on Nov. 4, 1931, to the late Harry and Gladys (Riggle) Barnes.
On June 22, 1951, she married the love of her life, Gurney L. Busby, and he passed away on July 31, 2010. Rose retired from West Central Schools as a cook at Jackson School. She had worked at K-Mart and was the owner-operator of Goods Donuts. Rose was a member of the Florida Station Church of God. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and crocheting. She loved spending time with her friends and family.
Rose is survived by her son, Garry (wife Desi) Busby, of Frankton; two daughters, Belinda West, of Anderson, and Marsha Busby, of Anderson; grandchildren, Todd (wife Jill) West, Krista (husband Josh) Farmer, Ryan (wife Lisa) Busby, Betsy (husband Donnie) Stohler, Ashley Keys and Brian (wife Ericka) Etherington; and 18 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Gurney; brother, Donni Barnes; and sister, Marilyn Kenipe.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 11, 2018, at Harper & Dunnichay Funeral Home, with Rev. Jerry Hilligoss officiating. Burial will follow in the K of P & IOOF Cemetery in Frankton.
Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2018, at Harper & Dunnichay Funeral Home, 305 E. Sigler St., Frankton, IN 46044.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Seasons Hospice through the funeral home.
