FRANKTON -- Rosemary Hobbs, 92, of Frankton passed away on Thursday, July 4, 2019, at her residence.
She was born on June 6, 1927, in Elwood, the youngest daughter of the late Adam and Elizabeth (Bertzel) Krebs.
Rosemary was a lifelong resident of Madison County. She married Charles Hobbs on April 7, 1951, in Anderson. They lived in the Elwood/Alexandria area until his death on July 28, 1998.
Rosemary graduated in 1945 from St. Mary's in Anderson. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Elwood, where she volunteered in several areas of church work.
For many years she worked as a medical secretary at St. John's Hospital in Anderson. Later, she and her husband managed Pine Grove Apartments in Elwood. Together they won many awards for their beautiful flowers.
Rosemary is survived by her daughter, Nancy (Dennis) Miller of The Villages, Florida; three sons, Tobey (Linda) Hobbs of Frankton, with whom she lived, Mike Hobbs of Anderson, and Rick Hobbs of Frankton; sister, Betty Shaffer of Anderson; sister-in-law, Lydia Krebs; and son-in-law, J.R. Pittsford; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandsons, Jason (Cindy) Hobbs and sons Jacob, Jackson and Lucas, Joey (Leah) Hobbs and sons, Nathan and Leland, Jeff (Shannon) Hobbs and sons, Jonathan and Joshua, Brandy Hobbs, Rachel Hobbs (David Neal), Lindsay (Troy Pryor), Kenny (Erin) Miller (expecting the first great-granddaughter, Savannah), Lizz Miller; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Sue Nelson of Chesterfield and Laverne Olsen of Arizona.
Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents, husband, infant daughter Judith Lynne Hobbs, daughter, Joyce Pittsford, brother J. Robert Krebs.
A funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church at 1 p.m. Wednesday July 10, 2019, with Father Dennis Goth officiating. Burial will follow in the St.Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation for family and friends will be Wednesday prior to the service from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Harper & Dunnichay Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made through the funeral home to the St. Joseph Catholic Church building fund or to the Madison County Humane Society.
