Samuel V. "Sam" Graves, 88, passed away Wednesday, July 5, 2017, at Community Heart & Vascular Hospital.
He was born Sept. 12, 1928, in Harlan, Kentucky, to Robert P. and Grace (Elliott) Graves.
Sam was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He retired from General Motors after 32 years. He attended Kingston Avenue Baptist Church.
Sam is survived by his sons, Samuel V. Graves Jr., and John (wife, Marsha) Graves; two brothers, two sisters, four grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and 15 nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wives, Barbara Graves and Gladys Graves; one sister, and four brothers.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory. Burial will be at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from noon until time of services.
