Scott's Story

Text size

DALLAS, Texas [mdash] Scott Christopher Maier passed away from a 2.5 year battle with lung cancer, just three weeks shy of his 49th birthday.
He was dedicated to his partner, family and friends. Scott is survived by his soul mate and best friend, Trace Symonds; his four fur-babies, Duke, Alvin, Ricky and Lucy; his amazing Dad and "Step-in" Mom, John and Sheryl Maier of Anderson, Indiana, as well as a sister, brother, nephew, Eric Naselroad, other family members and lots of friends both in Dallas and Anderson.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Judith Maier in 2012.
Growing up in Anderson, Indiana, Scott attended Park Place Church of God and St. Ambrose School. He graduated from Highland High School in 1987.
Scott's alter ego, "Dusty the Clown" would make appearances with the Anderson Clown Group.

Scott was sweet and thoughtful, caring and fun, silly and stubborn. He loved parties and had a flare for decorating, baking, remodeling and gardening. He loved to make others happy, at any expense. He was an amazing doggy daddy and dog trainer.
In Dallas, Scott interacted with many organizations. He was an active member of the White Rock Community Church, the Spectrum Motorcycle Club, volunteered with the Guys and Dolls civic fundraising group that benefited Lifewalk and with the Alzheimer's Foundation. You may have seen him walking in support of one of these organizations, or on his motorcycle in the Pride parade.
He leaves a legacy of love, peace and acceptance with us all. A Celebration of Life will be on 11/4/2017 at 4 p.m. at the Union Chapel Community Church in Summitville. In lieu of flowers, please donate to panfoundation.org in his honor.
