ALEXANDRIA - Sharon L. (Christie) Thomas, 73, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, March 7, 2018, at her residence.
She was born June 21, 1944, in Hastings, Minnesota, to Guy and Marie (Duffing) Christie and resided in Alexandria for the past 47 years. She was a graduate of Washington High School in Inglewood, California.
Sharon devoted her life to caring for her family and home. She enjoyed reading, fishing, shopping and especially time spent with her family.
She is survived by her sons, Leroy (Kori) Thomas of Anderson, Keith Thomas of Alexandria and Gerald Thomas of Summitville; grandchildren, Zachary Thomas of Orestes, and Amanda (Jacob) Donnelly, Abby Thomas and Bethany Thomas, all of Anderson; great-grandchildren, Leighla Donnelley and Leland Donnelly; sisters, Pam Christie of Chatworth, California, and Marie Christie of Las Vegas, Nevada; brother, Butch Christie of Las Vegas, Nevada; brother-in-law, Bill Billson of Anacortes, Washington; sister-in-law, Alberta Lamb of Alexandria; several nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Kathleen Crewse of Los Angeles, California; close friends, Larry and Susie Nelson of Alexandria; and special four-legged companion, Sadie the schnauzer.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Estle Thomas, in 1995; in-laws, Arthur and Ruth Thomas; sister, Rita Billson; and sister, Barbara Martin.
Services honoring Sharon's life and legacy will take place at 10 a.m. Monday, March 12, 2018, at Owens Funeral Home in Alexandria. Pastor Daniel Stevens will officiate. Interment will follow in Park View Cemetery in Alexandria.
