Sidney's Story

Sidney S. "Sande" Grieb, 88, of Anderson, passed from this earth Oct. 6, 2017.
He was born on Nov. 28, 1928, in New York, New York.
Sidney graduated from Anderson High School.
He retired in 1989 as a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service with 28.5 years of service.
He belonged to the Lord's Church and was a chaplain at the Madison County Jail.
Sande is survived by his wife of five years, Mary Tolle-Grieb; daughters, Cindy (Charlie) Soden, Shelly Drennon, and Jenny Stangle; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, step-grandchildren, stepgreat-grandchildren; half brother, George Scott Jr.; stepchildren, Susie (Mike) Franklin and Steve Tolle (Sharon Rees).
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sidney and Edna Grieb; first wife of 63 years, Phyllis Grieb; and granddaughter, Kelly Johnston.
Special thanks to friends, Forrest "Press" and Barbara Higginbotham; and all the caregivers from Keystone Woods, Kindred Hospice and Miller's Merry Manor Middletown.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Journey Church of Christ on Sunday, Oct. 15, 2017, at 3 p.m. with visitation one hour prior.
Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, 907 N. Raible Ave., Anderson, IN 46011 or Journey Church of Christ, 550 W. 37th St., Anderson, IN 46013. Flowers may be delivered to the church on Saturday, October 14, 9am-12pm.
