Thurman "Tony" King, 64, of Anderson, passed away after a short battle with Glioblastoma Jan. 6, 2018, at his residence. He was born July 10, 1953, in Anderson, where he resided most of his life, but spent the last five years in Panama City Beach, Florida.
Tony graduated from Madison Heights High School in 1971.
He had been employed at General Cage in Elwood and Meadowbrook Golf Course.
Tony was a refugee of the '60s. He was a lover of music, peace and sports, but his greatest love was his family.
Tony is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Tara (Passwater) King; daughters, Melissa King, Kimberly (Fred) Graham and Dorothy (Joshua) Smith; grandchildren; Specialist Jackson (Kendra) Burns, Fort Irwin, California, Kaitlyn (Jer'Son) Burton, Victoria Burton, Rex Rigdon, Kyndall Carmack, and Raymond, Abram, and Lilly Smith; great-grandsons, Liam Burns, and Jayden Burton. Also surviving are his mother, June King; siblings, Timothy (Judy) King, and Lori (Dennis) Farris; brother-in-law, Danny (Patricia) Passwater; and several special nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Rex King; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Raymond and Betty Passwater.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Callahan, Dr. Zook, Dr. Reddy, hospice nurse, Madison, and special family friends, Michele Fleetwood, and Ruthie McAshlan for all of their love and support.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
