Virginia T. Hunter


Virginia T. Hunter, 93, resident of Middletown, passed away Oct. 20, 2018, at Rawlins House Nursing Home, Pendleton.
She was born Oct. 26, 1924, in Frankton, the daughter of Linville and Sara Gooding Trissel. She was a graduate of Frankton High School and retired from General Motors (Guide Lamp) in Anderson after 31 years of service.
She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Mechanicsburg United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Waneta Wigner and Annamae Couch; her husband, Robert; and son-in-law, Daniel L. Swart.
She is survived by two daughters, Janice Swart of Atlanta, Indiana, and Peggy Stefandel (Jerry) of Middletown; five grandchildren, Brian, Brad, and Brandon Swart, Derik Stefandel and Ginny Waggener; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters, Joan Baughn of Rushville and Rosemary Clark of Leesburg, Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 118 S. Fifth St., Middletown, with C.J. Buskirk officiating.
Memorial services will also be given by the Order of the Eastern Star. Burial will follow in Green Hills Memory Gardens in New Castle.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from noon until the time of the services.
Memorials may be made to the Middletown Food Pantry.
