Condolences to the Walter Pete McKinley Lewis family.

Petey (as we called Walter), his family and mine lived on the same street: Fourth Street, Chillicothe, Ohio, where we were born). As, 'kids', Petey and I , and our siblings, grew up, played and attended school together. I, particularly, have fond memories of playing on and walking the railing of the Lewis' front porch.
Iam sure his large family will cherish their many memories of him. God-Speed Petey.

Pete was like a brother while we were in high school together. Great memories of picking him up for school in my "GRAY GHOST" 1953 Plymouth. Great memories of playing on the school football and basketball teams with him. I had always missed him since high school, but, shame on me, I never stayed in touch. Reading these other messages, it does not surprise me at all that so many others knew him as the great man that he was. God bless his family! I am sure you will all carry on the tremendous legacy he has left for you.

Pete was a very unique man who had such a clever witt. His many adverse stories of his life were was so mystic and humerus. A good man who had a passion for people and life. He was an asset to this Community and it's Citizens..Pete, thanks for the memories. RIP.

Thank you for your wise counsel when I was going to hard times. I would not be where I am if it wasn't for that direction. Being a police officer is tough on family life and relationships. Thanks, Pete! You be careful up there!
