Wanda's Story

Wanda F. (Swafford)Patton, 82, of Bedford, died June 21, 2017, at Stonebridge Healthcare after an extended illness.
Wanda was born Oct. 10, 1934, in Pena, Okla., the daughter of John and Hazel (Turley) Swafford.
She was a homemaker and also worked as a cook at Hopewell.
She lived most of her life in Anderson moving to Bedford in 2006. She enjoyed craft shows.
She is survived by her five children, Dwight (Diana) Patton of Florida, Edward (Jane) Patton of Anderson, Wesley (Melissa) Patton of Bedford, Clark (Tess) Patton of Anderson and Linda Faye Patton of Bedford; four siblings, Shirley, Ruth, Juanita and John; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy V. Patton in 1985; son, Rodney Patton; two sisters, Catherine Pollard and Mildred Cabe; and two brothers, Billy Ray and Bobby Swafford.
Service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 24, at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Pastor Tom Hunt officiating. Burial will follow in East Maplewood Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be given to the American Diabetes Association.
