Wayne's Story

Wayne Curtis Amick, 70, of Anderson, passed away Wednesday, June 28, 2017, at his home following an extended illness.
He was born April 16, 1947, at St. John's Hospital in Anderson, to Robert L. and Oda Lucille Amick, and lived most of his life in Anderson.
Wayne was a 1965 graduate of Madison Heights High School where he was part of the Madison Heights Pirates championship legacy of the '60s.
He was a Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War serving for four years beginning in 1965.
Wayne worked at General Motors and then Amick Electric until his retirement.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing most of his life.
Wayne was truly a patriotic American.
Survivors include a son, Robert W. Amick; mother, Oda Lucille Amick; sister, Lois L. Amick Harney; stepson, Tom Flora; niece and nephew, Jennifer Teasley and Alan Blake; special friends, Jesse Henry, Max Tilly, Chris Earlywine, Missy Phipps and Cheryl Murdock.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert L. Amick; and stepdaughter, Julie Tisdale.
Services will be at 4 p.m. Sunday at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory, Lahm Chapel, Pendleton, with cremation following.
Visitation from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Lahm Chapel.
