Wilburta "Billie" Cox, 78, of Middletown, passed away June 30, 2017, at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital. She was born on Dec. 13, 1938, in Noblesville, Indiana.
Wilburta attended Middletown High School.
She retired from Walmart where she worked at the service desk.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Middletown and was the Powder Puff Queen at Sun Valley Speedway.
Wilburta is survived by her daughter, Donelle Clensy of Middletown; son, Michael E. (Crystal) Cox of Anderson; two sisters, Joan Lovett of Chesterfield and Nancy (Paul) Girt of Anderson. two granddaughters, Mandi Cox of Anderson and Terri Clensy of Middletown; four grandsons, Donald I. (companion Jamie Tomlinson) Cox of Anderson and Mikhael I. Cox of Marion, Matthew Springer,of Anderson and Daniel Springer of Florida; four great-granddaughters, Tilsha Springer, Taylor Springer, Tabitha Springer and Stella Cox; two great-grandsons, Jasper Whaley and Leelen Whaley; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Wilbert Parrish; mother, Dessa Parrish; husband, Donald E. Cox; son, Duane (Terri) Cox; two sisters, Marjorie Fadley and Betty Kay Godfried; and two brothers, Richard Parrish and Don Parrish.
Visitation will be Monday from 4 to 6 p.m. at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, 200 West 53rd St. Anderson.
Services will be Monday 6 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. David Waters officiating.
Cremation will take place.
Memorial contributions may be made to Gideon's and First Baptist Church in Middletown.
