Alonnia Renae (Cox) Davis, 51, passed away on Thursday, March 9, 2017, at Community Hospital of Anderson.
She was born on Jan. 28, 1966, in Union City, to Roy and Alonnia (Kelley) Cox, and has lived in the Summitville-Alexandria area all of her lifetime. She was a 1984 graduate of Madison-Grant High School.
Alonnia was a member of the Alpha 1 Foundation and a former member of the American Legion Auxiliary-Post 95 in Jonesboro.
She was an accomplished artist and was the recipient of the Golden Key Award, placing her charcoal abstract in the Smithsonian Institution. She was a skilled seamstress and enjoyed quilting, crocheting and hand sewing. Alonnia devoted herself to the nurture and care of her family and enjoyed the role of Mom and Grandma.
Survivors include her husband, Jeheace Davis, whom she married Dec. 3, 2008; two daughters, Veronica Rye and Alyssa Rye; two grandchildren, Vincent Wiggins and Inara Martin; parents, Roy and Alonnia Cox; brother, Roy Michael Cox (Kathy Purtee); sister, Rhonda (Donald) Hintz; nieces and nephews, William Cox, Brian Lamey and Shelby Hintz; and cousins, aunts and uncles.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, orter and Wilma Kelley, and Olan and Mae Cox; and son, Vincent M. Rye.
Services honoring Alonnia's life will take place at 1 p.m. Monday at Noffze Funeral Home, 501 N. Harrison St., Alexandria, with the Rev. John Foster officiating. Cremation will follow the services.
Friends may call from noon to 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
