Amy Marie Oleksy, 55, of Anderson, passed away on Sept. 2, 2017, at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital. She was born on Nov. 2, 1961 in Anderson, where she resided all of her life.
Amy graduated from Anderson High School in 1980 and from Ivy Tech.
She worked as the Business Office Manager at the Anderson Center.
She loved people, and never knew a stranger. She loved IU basketball, the Indy 500, fine jewelry, cooking and entertaining, the beach, making people laugh and traveling, but most all she loved to spend time with her family, especially her boys.
Amy is survived by her husband, Philip Oleksy; sons Garrett Oleksy, Conner (fiance Chelsie) Oleksy; granddaughter Noelle Oleksy; sisters Gina (Eddie) Neuman-Bush, Julie Neuman; sister-in-law, Loretta (Chris Bowen) Oleksy; stepmother Barbara Neuman; nephews Chad Neuman and Jameson Sheets.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Maryann Neuman; father, Don Neuman; mother-in-law, Eileen Oleksy; and her father-in-law, Walter Oleksy.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Loose Funeral Homes Community Room, 200 W. 53rd St., Anderson.
A Celebration of Life will be at 6 p.m. Thursday at Loose Funeral Homes Community Room with Monsignor Robert Sell III officiating.
Philip, Garrett, and Conner ask Amy's friends to come celebrate Amy's life and share a story, a tear, a laugh, and "a little snack."
Cremation will take place.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the St. Vincent DePaul Society.
