Barbara R. Chambers, 77, of Elwood, died April 30, 2017, at St. Vincent Mercy Hospital in Elwood.
She was born Dec. 4, 1939, in Warsaw, to Franklin and Helen (Hook) Loser. She was a 1957 graduate of Frankton High School. Barb owned Main Treasures (and formerly Main Video) in Elwood for more than 20 years at the same location. Prior to that, she was the branch manager of the Elwood License Branch until 2005; formerly was office manager for Campbell Seed Co.; and worked in advertising sales for WBMP radio in Elwood.
She married Jan M. Chambers in 1994. Barb was a member of the Frankton American Legion; was active in the Democrat party; and enjoyed antiquing and crafting. She always had a smile, and was a friend to everyone.
Barbara's family includes husband, Jan Chambers of Elwood; three sons, Bobby Mullins of Elwood, Randy Mullins of Anderson, and Marlin (Tammy) Means Jr. of Frankton; three grandchildren, Mitchell Mullins of Elwood, Kennedy Mullins of Brownsburg, and Jonathon Mullins of Brownsburg; and a special dog, "Muffin."
Barb was preceded in death by her parents; and son, Billy Mullins.
Per her wishes, a private graveside service for Barbara will be held at a later date at the K of P/IOOF Cemetery in Frankton with Pastor Bill Johnston officiating.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society or the Elwood Animal Shelter through the funeral home. Arrangements have been entrusted to Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood.
