Bernie Gordon Coleman, 81, of Anderson, passed away on May 3, 2017, at Community Hospital of Anderson.
He was born on September 23, 1935 in Terre Haute, and resided most of his life in Anderson.
He retired from Koorsen Fire Protection after 26 years of service.
He was a member of St. Matthews United Methodist Church, and he enjoyed camping, but most of all he loved spending time with his grandkids and great-grandkids.
Bernie is survived by his loving children, Ronald (Sharon) Coleman, and Laura (Richard) Garringer; grandchildren, Heather (Tom) Edwards, Autumn (Bob) Wells, Joshua Coleman, Justin (April) Garringer, Abbi(Will) Richardson, Ashley Coleman, Christopher (Brittany) Coleman, and Matthew (Tresha) Coleman; 17 great-grandchildren; and special friend, Donna Owens.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Janet Dee Coleman; mother, Marie Maxine Coleman; father, Maurice Coleman; brothers, Maurice Coleman and Maurice Coleman; and grandchildren, Chad, Nathan, Cory, and great-grandchild, Aiden Matthew.
Visitation will be held 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, 200 W. 53rd St., Anderson.
Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Dr. John A. Young officiating. Cremation & Burial of Ashes will take place in Grovelawn Cemetery, at a later date.
