Betty Lou (Carr) Bedwell, 84, of South Bend, passed away at 9:24 p.m. Monday, June 26, 2017.
Betty Lou was a homemaker and loved by her daughters. She was a former member of the Sixth Street Christian Church in Middletown.
Betty Lou was born on Feb. 26, 1933, to Nathan and Blanch (Smith) Carr in Greene County. She married Dale Stanley Bedwell on Dec. 25, 1948, in Pleasantville, Indiana. Dale preceded Betty Lou in death on Sept. 23, 2012.
Betty Lou is survived by her two daughters, Frankie (Tim) Whitesel of Anderson, and Vickie (Ronald) Flick of Granger, Ind.; grandchildren, Matt (Amanda) Flick, Mark (Brenda) Flick, Nathan (Nina) Whitesel, Leah (Steve) Fields, and Beth (Brad) Rector; great-grandchildren, Lucas, Mackenzie, Allison and Ashley Flick, Ella and Anna Rector, and Talia and Layla Whitesel; and nieces, Sue Knoll of Fish Lake, Kay Harris of Lafayette, and Debra Fisher of Michigan City.
Betty Lou was preceded in death by her sister, Rosemary Hux; brothers, Bill Carr and Robert Carr; parents; and husband, Dale.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at Great Lakes Hospice and North Woods Village and to a special friend, Renee Prevost.
Friends may visit with the Bedwell family from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Palmer Funeral Home Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan St., South Bend. Burial will take place at 2 p.m. Saturday at Miller Cemetery, Middletown.
