Betty Lou's Story

Betty Lou (Clevenger)Knotts Russell died Jan. 25, 2017, at Meadow Lakes Assisted Living in Mooresville after an extended illness.
She was born July 7, 1925, in Alexandria, to Charles and Glee (Collins) Clevenger. She was a beautician and homemaker who enjoyed playing dominoes and cards, crocheting, watching baseball and movies with her family.
She was a member of Christian Congregation Church before moving to Lakeland, Fla.
She is survived by her four children, Loretta (Rickey) Powless of Anderson, David (Linda) Knotts and Karen (Daniel) Hayden, all of Florida, and Lisa (Rick) Brewer of Monrovia; stepchildren, Sharon (Cal) Chun of Nevada, and Greg (Liz) Russell of Arkansas; 24 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; three great-great- grandchildren; her brother, Jack (Joyce) Clevenger of Muncie; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James C. Russell; two sons, Terry Knotts and Michael Knotts; stepdaughter, Bonnie Clouse; brother, Charles Clevenger; and three sisters, Ida Bell Kendall, Naomi Christenson and Juanita Sizelove.
Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Elm Ridge Cemetery in Muncie.
Memorial contributions may be given to American Heart Association.
