Billy's Story

Billy J. Kinley, 77, of Alexandria, passed away June 14, 2017, at his residence in Alexandria.
He was born on Feb. 14, 1940, in Hutchinson, Kan.
He retired in 2002 after 39 years of service as a meter reader for the City of Anderson.
He was a member of East Side Church of God.
Bill has served his community by umpiring for the softball leagues, mentoring as a foster parent, volunteering at the White River Cleanups, adopting families for the holidays and volunteering many hours of service to a charity motorcycle ride for local nonprofits. He enjoyed church, family. He liked creating stained glass lamps, and loved sports, especially baseball and watching his Cubs. He was a member of the Anderson Moose Lodge 150 for more than 25 years. He served as an officer of the lodge and later became administrator. During that time he received his Fellowship Degree and his Pilgrim Degree of Merit, one of the highest honors given for his commitment to the lodge, community and leadership. For his service to his community the Mayor of Anderson declared June 14, 2017, Billy J. Kinley Day. As recognition from the Mayor a street will be named in his honor "Bill Kinley Way" for being one of Anderson, Indiana's most outstanding citizens.
Billy is survived by his wife Evelyn "Sue" (Affolder) Kinley of Alexandria; son, John (Connie) Kinley of Anderson; daughter, W. Sue Kinley of Anderson; son, Spencer (Leslie) Kinley of Anderson; stepson, Brad DuBois of Plainfield; stepdaughter, Susan (John) DuBois York of Vincennes; stepson, Rodney (Connie) DuBois of El Paso, Texas; brother, Philip (Phyllis) Kinley of Anderson; brother, Douglas "Duke" Kinley of Derby, Kan.; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He also leaves, to cherish his beloved little dog, Sassy aka "Chunky Monkey".
He was preceded in death by parents, Elmer and Clair Kinley; and siblings, Keith Kinley and Elmerna Kinley.
Visitation will be held Sunday, June 18, 2017, from 2 to 6 p.m. at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, 200 W. 53rd St., Anderson.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, June 19, 2017, at East Side Church of God with Dr. Kerry Robinson officiating. Burial will take place in East Maplewood Cemetery, Anderson.
