Carl A. Keppler, 69, passed away after a short illness on April 26, 2017.
He was born to Henry and Rose (LaGrotta) Keppler on April 15, 1938.
Carl moved to Indianapolis with his family in 1960 and graduated Scecina High School in 1966. He joined the United States Army 173rd Airborne Brigade in 1966 and served two tours in Vietnam.
After returning, he worked for his father in HVAC at A-OK Heating and Cooling. He worked as an HVAC tech and eventually started his own business.
Carl enjoyed being outdoors. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a member of the American Legion, Eagles, Veterans of Madison County, and the NRA.
Surviving Carl are his twin sons, Carl J. Keppler (Nicole) and Anthony J. Keppler (Brittany Keppler); son, James B. Keppler (Jessica); brothers, Henry George Keppler and Paul (Sally) Keppler; 14 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; special daughter, Carolyn Sue Keppler; and special friend, Bruce (Lynn) Hawkins.
Preceding Carl in death are his parents; granddaughters, Krista and Kayla Keppler; and sister-in-law, Mary June Keppler.
Military honors and celebration of Carl's life will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services.
Visitation is one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Carl may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, which he supported for many years.
