Charlie Glenn Gardner, 80, of Anderson, passed away Jan. 17, 2017, in Anderson.
He was born on April 23, 1936, in Fayette County, Ala., to JW and Odessa Gardner.
He was married for 54 years to Shirley (Owens) Gardner.
He retired from Delco Remy in Anderson in 1985 where he worked as a utility man.
He was a member of New Covenant Ministry Center in Anderson.
Charlie loved Jesus, family, and fishing.
Charlie is survived by his daughter, Pam (Charlie) Shelton of Anderson; two sons, Rick (Connie) Gardner of Anderson and David (Nae) Gardner of Anderson; four brothers, James (Sandra) Gardner of Columbus, Miss., Douglas (Judy) Gardner of St. Louis, Mo., John (Lequeita) Gardner of Smyrna, Tenn., and Dale (Fran) Gardner of Bowling Green, Ky.; sister, Martha Clements of Columbus, Miss.; sister-in-law, Edith Gardner of Sikeston, Mo.; 20 grandchilden, Andy (JB), Bubba (Angel), Sis (Michael), Jon (Jamie), Josh, Amanda (Teddy), Justin (Jacque), Lindsay (Ray), Michael, Promise, Raiden, Lilly, Lexi, and Bri; 19 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by wife, Shirley Gardner; father, JW Gardner; mother, Odessa Gardner; sister and brother-in-law, Virginia (Dub) Deason; brother, Robert Gardner; and sister-in-law, Patsy Gardner.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, 200 W. 53rd St., Anderson.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Pastor Joe "Bubba" Shelton officiating. Burial will take place in Pleasant Walk Cemetery, Anderson.
