Clara B. Gibson, 95, Summitville, passed away Saturday, Feb. 4, 2017, at Community Northview Care Center in Anderson.
She was born Oct. 10, 1921, in Metcalf County, Kentucky, to Calvin and Pearl Fields. Clara was an active member of the Summitville Baptist Church where she enjoyed fellowship and more. She retired from Guide Lamp in 1980 after 32 years of service. Family was a huge part of Clara's life and she was a blessing to family and friends.
Survivors include her son, Stanley Gibson (Jeanie Kirby), Summitville; daughter, Doris Savage, Gas City; grandchildren, Cassandra (Todd) Creamer, Amanda Savage Purvis, Danette (Chris) Cornett, Benjamin Gibson and Andrew (Carrie) Gibson; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Elbert (Dorine) Fields-Glasgow, Kentucky; and several nieces and nephews
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 38 years Ezra Gibson in 1984; sisters, Jewell (Joe) Jessie, Lois (Ovie) Wilson and Mammie (James) Shives; brother, Carroll (Lee) Fields; and grandson, Jacob Savage.
Services honoring Clara's life at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Owens-Noffze Funeral Home, 1009 W. Walnut St., Summitville. Pastor Alex Beane will officiate. Interment will follow in Vinson Memorial Cemetery.
Friends may call on the family after 11 a.m. Tuesday prior to the services.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Summitville Baptist Church through the funeral home.
