Cory Matthew Highbaugh, 40, of Chesterfield, passed from this world on June 24, 2017, in Chesterfield.
He was brought into this world on Jan. 4, 1977, in Anderson.
Cory is survived by his mother, Patsy Danner; daughter, Olivia Highbaugh; brother, Craig Highbaugh; grandchildren, Adalynn and Gracelynn Flick; grandmothers, Patricia Danner and Naomi Highbaugh; and cousin, Todd Vannatta.
Special Mention: Cory is also survived by soul mate, Jeanette (Weaver) Highbaugh; three stepchildren, Sydney, Sylas, and Shyan Abbott; in-laws, Randy and Debra Nichols of Chesterfield, Shane and Sarah Nichols, and Chris and Stacy (Nichols) Teepe; nephew and niece, Logan and Ally Wehrly; Josh and Candy (Weaver) Badger; Brian and Rose Weaver; Ivan and Kinsey Carmack; lots of nieces and nephews; childhood friends, Brandon Carmack, Katie Rains, and Nicole (Schuyler) Kapuscinski.
Cory loved the outdoors and NASCAR. He enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family and friends. Cory also had a skill for playing poker, and had fun on the slot machines at Hoosier Park. His favorite verse from the Bible was Psalm 23:4 (KJV): Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil...
Cory was preceded in death by his father Dennis Highbaugh; a very special friend, Daniel Livingston; and sister-in-law, Tammy C. (Weaver) Currie.
Cremation will take place.
Cory was loved by many of us. We weren't all blood, but life brought us together as a family and as friends. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be at a later date.
