Delores 'Dee''s Story
Delores "Dee" Rae Fairman, 77, of McKinney, Texas, passed away on March 16, 2017.
She was born on Dec. 9, 1939, in Anderson, Ind., to Reynale Anderson and Frances (Hinkle) Anderson. She was married to her high school sweetheart, Jarrett S. "Skip" Fairman on Nov. 13, 1960, in Bloomington, Ind. Delores graduated from Anderson Sr. High and went on to attend Indiana University where she received a bachelor's degree in education. She taught school in Marion, Ind., for several years, but found her real passion working as an aide and then attendance clerk in the Richardson, Texas Independent School District.
Dee was an accomplished pianist, who loved music and was known for her sense of humor and love of dogs. She was a pioneer "supermom" who magically managed three kids, dogs and a husband with only an ugly orange notepad, a single line rotary phone, and a seemingly inexhaustible reserve of energy and love. She never missed a soccer game, swim meet, band concert, or school play and had a lifelong habit of always putting her family first and keeping everyone on-schedule. She always made the holidays special, and left us with many happy memories and funny stories. Dee will always hold a special place in her family's heart as a loving wife and mother.
She is survived by her best friend and husband of almost 57 years, Jarrett "Skip" Fairman of McKinney, Texas; son, Jarrett Scott Fairman of Dallas, Texas; daughter, Adele Suzanne Fairman of Lewisville, Texas; daughter, Angela Christine Williams and husband, Todd of McKinney, Texas; four grandchildren, Rachel Bova, Chaz Williams, Megan Williams and Reese Williams; and sister, Jan Anderson Palietz of Boulder, Colo.
A funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. Monday at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, 2525 Central Expwy North, Allen, Texas.
The family will receive friends during a visitation from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Anderson Memorial Cemetery in Anderson, Ind., on Friday, April 7, at 11 a.m.
