Delphine Wilson Brooks departed this life on Monday, April 24, 2017.
Delphine was born on May 16, 1958, the fourth of nine children to the late Joe Henry Wilson and Leola Wilson. She began her early education at Moorhead Elementary School in Moorhead, Miss.
Delphine graduated from Gentry High School in 1976. Upon graduating from high school, she moved to Anderson, Ind.
Delphine worked at the Pizza Inn in Anderson, for years before retiring. She was a loving sister, aunt, niece and cousin who will be remembered for her strength and gentle spirit.
Delphine leaves to cherish her memories, Leroy Jones of Anderson; three sisters, Mary (Hury) Minniefield of Indianola, Miss., Shirley (Earnest) Hogan of Desoto, Texas, and Bettie (Sam) Trotter of Moorhead, Miss.; six brothers, James Wilson of Greenwood, Miss., Theodore Wilson of Atlanta, Ga., Rodger Wilson of Indianola, Miss., Willie Earl (Dee) Wilson of Lancaster, Texas, Darry Wilson of Elsworth, Maine, and Barry (Tracey) Wilson of Red Oak, Texas; a loving aunt, Catherine Logan Gillespie of Anderson; she also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends who will all miss her greatly.
Delphine was preceded in death by her parents, Joe Henry and Leola Wilson; her husband, Willie Brooks; and two brothers, Curtis Wilson and John Wilson.
Services will be at noon Friday at Church Upon the Rock, 303 E. 29th St., Anderson.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon at the church.
